Phoebe was the only bitch produced by our imported Saint, NZCH Stiniyasu I Can Bop (Imp Aust), and our boy Rangitumau Instant Kiwi. We were very fortunate that both these wonderful girls did everything that we hoped they would, only in Phoebe's case, we didn't have her for nearly long enough.
Phoebe was a wonderful ambassador for the breed. She always tried her best for me in the show ring; always willing to make new friends, indeed she loved everyone, as no-one had ever hurt her. She was truly a gentle giant.
She gained her title one day after her first birthday,making her our first homebred Saint Bernard champion, but after an injury to her wither, was not shown again. She was a companion to her mother Felecia, and her brother Roman, but her greatest love was puppies; she could always be found camped outside the door when there was a litter of cockers within!
It was a very happy and proud day for her when she produced her one and only litter of three girls. She was a wonderful mother, and the pup we retained was company for her when her mother passed away. These saints are very clannish. They often seek each other's company.
Sadly Phoebe passed away after a brief illness and she has left a hole in our lives as big as herself and is missed very dearly by all here at Milkwood.
