June 2010: A day at the shows for me for the first time in months, handling Aggie to her first BCC and a Best of Breed. Very pleased also to witness Chelsea's beagle become a dual Australian and NZ Champion! Go, Ralphie! The new Schipperke on the block, Am Ch Tumbleweed's On The Road Again (Imp USA) hit the ring with a bang, collecting 3 IOG, 1 RBOG and 2 DCCs on his first weekend. Welcome, Perry! In Oz, Mo was awarded 2 DCCs and 2 BOBs.
May 2010: Began with Mo winning 2 x DCCs and a Best of Breed in Oz. A sad start to the month with the passing of Milkwood Hasta La Vista "Arnie" at 8 yrs, our sympathies to Kay Rouse and her family at the loss of their loved family pet. He was a lovely boy.
8th and 9th May and a lovely Mothers Day pressie to hear of Mo winning 2xDCCs, 2xBOBs and TWO BEST OF GROUPS!!
15th & 16th May, Kobe won BOB & NZBOG and Aggie won BOB at the East Coast Ladies Open Show, while at the All Breeds Champ Show, Kobe was awarded 2 x DCCs and 2 x BOBs, while Aggie was awarded a RBCC.
We welcome Becca and Jag's second litter, 3 girls and a boy whelped in under an hour, Mum has it under control and all well.
Meanwhile in Oz Mo was awarded two more DCCs and TWO VETERAN IN SHOWS!
April 2010: We are officially open for business at PAMPERED PAWS and hit the ground running! Store and salon look great and worth all the long hours and hard work. In Oz our dear Mo was awarded Reserve Dog CC at the NSW Cocker Spaniel Specialty under Barbara Shaw (USA). Grace also won JIS at the Borzoi Specialty with her NZ imp Strikeness Henry Morgan! A good weekend for her.
On the weekend of 10-11 April saw "Rilee" Rigaya Mad About Style make her debut at the Auckland Spaniel Show 75th Anniversary Shows for my good friend Diana Adam and win Minor Puppy in Show at the Champ and Open Shows, while at Hawkes Bay Kobe was awarded 3 DCCs and 3 Best of Breeds and his 5th NZBred of Group.
17th April and news from the Cambridge Shows that "Rilee" was awarded her first BCC just two days into Puppy class, amid strong competition and went on to Reserve Best of Breed - go girl!
Anzac weekend in OZ and great news from Grace with Mo being awarded 2 DCC's, a Best of Breed, Runner Up in Group and OPEN IN SHOW!! He's a good boy!!
March 2010: Kobe was awarded NZBred in Group at the Hawkes Bay NSUDS show and 3 x DCCs and 3 x Best of Breeds for the weekend, thanks to Chelsea and Sandra; Aggie enjoyed her weekend being spoilt by her Auntie Mush; Jack Black the Irish was awarded his 5th CC and a Best of Breed and Rotten Ralph the Beagle won Junior in Show at the Hound Specialty. The cocker team may be on hold in the next few months while we establish our business, but Kobe will be busy getting out and about!
In Oz, Mo was awarded a DCC,Best of Breed, a Reserve in Group and an Open in Group. We are so proud of our boy.
Continuing on 20th March, Mo won 2 DCC's, 2 Best of Breeds and TWO Open of Groups!! What a great achievement. Kobe went to Wanganui with his other mother and was awarded BEST OF GROUP and NZBred of Group! Well done, Chelsea, Sandra and of course Kobe my wee black buddy. Ralphie the beagle won another DCC and Best of Breed for Chelsea and Margaret clocked up another group win with the labs, a great day!
The last shows for the month saw Mo in Oz being awarded 2 DCCs, 2 Best of Breeds and another Reserve in Group and Open of Group..and in New Plymouth Kobe was 5th in the AllBreed NZBred Stakes, and his brother Kash Best of Group and Open of Group on 27th, then next day Kobe went DCC, Best of Breed and NZBred in Group, while Chelsea's beagle Ralphie went Reserve and Junior of Group. We are so proud for Grace and Mo, and the Sanlyn team for Kobe, Kash, and Ralphie's wins...
February 2010: Will be a busy month for us on the home front while we get ourselves organised. Bonnie had a huge op on both ears in Matamata but has come through it well, we caught up with John, June and the saint rellies in Tauranga, great to see them all.
Our only show for Feb at Levin on 13& 14th; Kobe won DCC, BOB at the allbreeds show then won NZBred in Show at the Spitz Club. Pepper won BCC & BOB, making her a New Zealand Champion! Huge thanks to Chelsea for handling Pepper to this win and others along the way. Rogan, our baby from the Rove/Radar litter, went Best Dog and Reserve Best of Breed on Sunday, and made the final seven in the baby puppy sweepstakes on Saturday. For his first shows, that aint too darn bad! Margaret and Nellie the labrador had a good day too with a Junior of Group
.Feb 27th and 28th saw success on both sides of the Tasman with Mo winning Reserve in Group in Oz and Aggie and Kobe having a good day at the Open shows in Wellington with their Auntie Margaret being awarded a Baby Puppy in Show and a NZBred In Show respectively. We told Gracie what a good girl she is, nursing Jag's latest litter, then spent a week in training with Wendy & Mick Drekovic and a few hours at the Canberra Royal before heading north to Sydney, meanwhile Tracey was busy at home in the countdown to "Pampered Paws" ...
January 2010: First shows of the New Year and Kobe (2DCCs and 2BOBs) and Pepper (BCC & BOB) both scoring wins and Jag's babies having their first shows with JJ winning 2 x Best Dogs and Aggie taking Baby of Breed both days. Chelsea's new beagle Aust Ch Caermyrddin Rotten Ralph made his NZ debut in style with a Reserve in Group - go Ralphie! In Oz Mo won 3 DCCs and 3 Best of Breeds, he's clocking up those points, well done Mo!
At the Manawatu Open Shows, Aggie had a ball at the pm show, winning Baby of Group, Best of Group, Baby in Show and Reserve Best in Show! At 5 months of age, I hope she has started as she means to go on!
The last Saturday of the month saw Mo win DCC and Best of Breed in Oz, good boy!
Our showing will be curtailed to a certain extent over the next few months as we begin an exciting new venture - more details soon...
December 2009: Last shows of the year in NZ for us and Pepper was awarded BCC & Best of Breed at East Coast Gundog, thanks again to Chelsea and Sandra for looking after her; my honorary Irish Setter son, Jack Black of Shannon won Junior in Show also at the Gundog Specialty, while in Oz Mo clocked up another DCC & Best of Breed, well done, guys!
November 2009: We took time out from concentrating on our two litters for our local show Wairarapa Kennel Assn weekend of 14 & 15th of two allbreeds and one benefit champ shows, which saw Jag win 3 DCCs and two Best of Breeds and a RUBOB, Pepper win 3 BCCs and one Best of Breed and two RUBOBs, and Cybil win 3 BCCs, 1 Best of Breed and 2 RUBOBs. Huggie and Tracey were awarded three Reserve bitch CCs from their first weekend of showing since the birth of Tracey and Brent's son James a year ago, so well done, guys! This was a pleasing result after a three month break from showing, although the team have performed well going away with their "other mothers". Thanks to my friends for helping to keep the show careers of our kids ticking along...
In Oz, Mo was awarded DCC and Best of Breed, too, well done!
21 November Mo had a great day coming 3rd in the Veteran Sweepstakes, Best of Breed and Open in Group! Way to go, Mo!!
October 2009: Nationals Curtain Raiser: Kobe DCC & Best of Breed. Well done, little man.
Our show days will be reduced for the rest of the year while we concentrate on raising our latest youngsters.
The 15th October goes down as a big day with not only Kobe's and his siblings 1st birthday, but also Radar's litter to Rove of 4d & 4b, all will be dark blue roan. Radar is being an excellent mum with her brood and we thank the Drekovics and Rove for the popsicles!
17 October and Kobe goes Best of Breed and now a Champion! YAY Kobe. His sister Marnie was Junior of Group and Junior in Show...great stuff for the schipperkes. After a spell away from the ring,Miss MP celebrated her return by going RBOB then took out Intermediate of Group. Thanks again to Sandra and Chelsea for their efforts and care of the show kids while we look after our babies.
Sept 2009: News from Oz, Mo is awarded 2DCCs and a BOB - now a veteran and still going (and showing) strong.
On 15th Sept we welcome to the world Jag and Becca's litter of 5, 3b & 2d with mum and babies doing well and dad handing out the cigars! All puppies will be dark blue roans.

26th Sept: Kobe is awarded Best of Breed, NZBred of Group and his THIRD Reserve in Group, and he's still not a year old yet..thanks to Chelsea and Sandra for taking "Mr Black" to Manawatu. His sister Marnie was placed in the allbreed puppy stakes from a huge entry, great stuff :0)

August 2009: A big weekend with four shows in Wellington saw Kobe the Schipp win a Best of Breed and 3 RBOBs; Margaret title her labrador "Bond", now Ch Brackenlodge Secret Agent and also awarded 2 Junior of Groups, and Jack Black of Shannon, the new Irish Setter in the "Rent-A-Mob" team win a DCC & Puppy of Group and Yvonne's "Tar's" the Viszla, BIS CH Magyar Firefly winning two Best of Groups, Julie titling her whippet and to top the lot, Judith winning Reserve Best in Show and NZBred in Show with her Otterhound "Kipa" BIS RBIS CH Beretania Takahe!!
22nd Aug: Kobe and Chelsea are awarded Best of Breed. Well done, "Mr Black!", who I am now proud to be the co-owner of... Everyone else kept the home fires burning...no shows for us now till later in the year.
July 2009: Good news from Genetic Technologies with Jag's DNA test returning a CLEAR result for PRA, good on ya, Jaggy-waggy!
The only show for us this month on 25th July saw Jag win 2 DCC's a Best of Breed and a RUBOB with the girls staying at home.
June 2009: All quiet on the western front with no shows for us now till late July... but over in Oz, Mo is showing himself the model of consistency with two Best of Breeds on the 7th, and another Reserve in Group, his third ROG since the beginning of the year and his 4th overall since arriving in NSW. Each time he's been runner up to Glen Vernon's labrador. Good on you, Mo and Grace!
June 27th we said a sad farewell to Poppy, aka Milkwood We'll Meet Again, now the wee friend of a longtime cocker exhibitor and enthusiast , who will give her a great life. All the best to you both.
June 28th, and Just the BEST news from Oz with Grace and Mo winning BEST OF GROUP in the morning show then RESERVE BEST OF GROUP in the afternoon show. A huge thrill for us all here at Milkwood!!
May 2009: This month started with great news from Perth with "Koni", Milkwood Kool Knection winning a specialty Puppy in Show for Rick & Sue Hall, with their boy DeSaix Finders Keepers winning Reserve BIS & State Bred in Show. Yay, Koni & Keepa !!
While on the other coast in NSW, Mo won another two Best of Breeds for Grace, well done! We are very proud of our kennel reps doing so well in Oz.
At the Hawkes Bay shows on the 9th & 10th, Jag was awarded 2 DCC's and 2 Best of Breeds, giving him his NZ Champion title, yay Jag!! To top off his last day as a junior he also won Best In Show at the East Coast Ladies KA Open Show from 189 entries. Radar (Milkwood A Question of Style at Rigaya) has come to stay while awaiting maternity duties and she won her third BCC and a RBOB, while Pepper chimed in with 2 RBCC's. My wee mate Kobe the Schipperke also had a good weekend with us coming 4th in the Allbreed Puppy Sweepstakes.
In OZ on the same weekend Grace and "Mo" won 5 DCC's, three Best of Breeds and a Reserve Best in Group! Go, Mo!!
Mid-May and team had a great time in Blenheim, with Jag winning 5DCC's and 2 BOB's and a RBOB; Pepper winning 2 BCC's and 2 RBOB's and a Junior in Show at the Tasman Gundog specialty, yay Pepper! Cybil was awarded 2 BCC's and 2 RBOBs and Kobe the Schipperke won 3DCC's, 3 BOB's, 2 Reserve in Groups, 1 Puppy in Group and 7th in the Puppy Stakes with Chelsea! What a weekend, many thanks to Trina and Hayley for their hospitality and great to catch up with our collegues from the south inbetween mad dashes between 3 rings..! Sharon & Sheree won NZBred in Show on Sat pm with beautiful Ari "Ch Ashard A Fine Passion" who shimmered under floodlights due to dusk falling during General Specials judging. Go, girls!
May 23rd on a bitterly cold Upper Hutt show day and the cockers had the weekend off, but saw Kobe take Best of Breed and I had my first venture into the Hound ring with "Ellie" the Otterhound Ch Beretania Ruru for a Best of Breed for Judith Ashworth & Dr Nancy Pollock.
April 2009: June Lawson's saint Ch Milkwood Pali'ser Perchance "Syrah" (Bonnie & Sophie's sister) was awarded BCC & Best of Breed at the Auckland shows in her first show back from her maternity duties. Our day at the Kumeu shows mid-month saw Pepper awarded another RBCC and Jag an RDCC amongst strong competition, while in the Non-sporting ring I was very proud to handle Kobe the Schipperke, "Sanlyn Once In A Blumoon", to Best of Group 4th at 6 months of age - go, Kobe!!
Meanwhile at the Nelson shows, Syrah was awarded another BCC and her 3-month-old daughter Petra "La Fleur Petrus of Rangitumau" going RBCC and then Baby Puppy of Group! Well done, June!
March 2009: Ch La Chapelle of Rangitumau - "Shiraz" crossed the rainbow bridge on the 1st, condolences to John & June for the loss of their big girl who, after a wonderful life, is now in the company of her many rellies in doggy heaven.
Meanwhile over in Oz, "Mo" picks up another Reserve Best In Group for Grace.
The last shows at the end of the month in Hawkes Bay saw Miss MP awarded 4 BCC's, gaining her title, and three Best of Breeds , Jag awarded 3 DCC's and a Best of Breed and two RBOB. Pepper won 2 RBCC's and a RBOB.
February 2009: Miss MP wins Bitch Challenge at Horowhenua, huge thanks to Sandra and Chelsea Macklin for stepping in and looking after our crew and taking our girl to the show in our absence, and to Sharan and David Bryne for their hospitality.
Jag wins his 4th DCC on St Valentine's Day with a RBOB at a weekend away with his Auntie Margaret, her labs and irish setters in Tokoroa. Thanks, Margaret!
January: We welcome news of our home-bred St Bernard, "Ch Milkwood Pali'ser Perchance" litter to "Ch Bernabby Cullen" for June Lawson in Tauranga, 4 dogs, 4 bitches, all spoken for at this stage, and doing well...
On the last day of the month, Miss MP wins Junior in Show at the Auckland Spaniel Club specialty
December: We end the year on a high note with Jag winning another DCC and a Best of Breed at Hawkes Bay. The team have had a great year, and we look forward to 2009.
November: Cybil wins Baby Puppy In Show at the North Island St Bernard Assn Champ show, judge Ian Hinde (Vic). Along with her sister Huggie, they also won Best Brace In Show.
We welcome an unexpected addition to the show team here at Milkwood.
Glenbriar Ozi Express (Imp Aust) has his first shows for 2 x DCC's.

October: Following on from the Nationals, Pepper won Puppy In Show at the Auckland Spaniel Show under Helle Dan Palsson (Denmark) "Dan-L" with Miss MP going RBCC and Diana Adam's youngster Snoopy "Rigaya Keeping the Style" going RDCC only just into junior class and her puppy Rigaya Graceful Style winning Minor Puppy In Show. However the Waitemata Gundog saw Miss MP winning BCC, Best of Breed from 25 cockers and Junior in Show under Mrs Gloria Geringer (USA)!

Hadlee also won the junior dog class at the Nationals, his litter sister Ch Ashard A Fine Passion going RBCC & Reserve Best of Breed but his litter sister Ch Ashard Hopelessly Devoted topped the lot by winning Best of Breed, NZBred of Group and NZBred in Show! A big thrill for their breeder Sharan Byrne.
On the Saint side of things Huggie won Baby Puppy in Group under Paul Stanton (Sweden), which was also a big thrill for all her connections. At the same time Koni in Australia won Baby Puppy of Breed at the Perth Royal.
Dionne is appointed to the NZKC Accredited Dockers Panel, enabling tails to be docked using the preferred banding method.
